Our Faith
We believe that Mark 11:22-24 speaks for itself.
"And Jesus answering them saith unto them,  Have Faith in God.  For Verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye recieve them, and ye shall have them."

When I was younger and all others my age quoted John 3:16 as their favorite, I always quoted this one.  It has always stuck out to me because I believe that God was preparing me for needing it in the future.  This is one of the main scriptures we stood on with Serenity.
We also believe that our words our the fruit of our faith.  For God spoke the entire world into existence with His words.  They are a very powerful thing. Jesus also operated in this principle of faith.  While on earth His spoken  words calmed the wind and raging sea, raised the dead and casted out demons, just by speaking.

John 14:12  "..He that believeth on me the works that I do shall he do also, and greater,,"
We believe you can have those things that you ask for, be it positive or negative.  For the more you speak something, the more you believe it to be true.  Jesus said, ",, as thou hast believed so it has been done unto thee. (Matthew 8:13)

Isaiah 57:19 says
"I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off and to him that in near , saith the Lord; and I WILL HEAL HIM.
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that with I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

God declares that HIS word will not return to HIM void.  We are to return His word by giving voice to it and He will create the fruit of our lips.  Our Confession of the Word of God calls for Healing which is already ours but is not yet in manifestation.  By already ours, I mean Christ has already given everything we will ever need.
",,,they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses.  He sent HIS Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
Psalms 107-19-20
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed."
1Peter 2:24
"For ever oh Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven."
Psalm 119:89
"By HIS stripes we were healed."   'were' being the key word.  We do not ask for that which has already been given to us,  we just recieve it.  God's word is forever settled in Heaven.  He made up His mind that all should be healed through His son before the beginning of time and His word never changes. God has promised that there will be trials and tribulation, but he also declares not to fear them for He sent His son Christ Jesus to overcome this world, so that through Him, we overcome this world as well.
1 John 5:4-5

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.  Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God"
The world; meaning all the destruction that Satan has brought into it. (sin, sickness, bondage, addictions,  all leading to premature physical and spiritual death)  Satan is the one who has come to Kill, Steal and Destroy, But Jesus came that we might have life and have it more ABUNTANTLY.
(John 10:10)
God has also given us authority to bind the things of this world.
Matthew 16-19
"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Through Christ Jesus we have authority over all things of this world.
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  Ephesians 6:12
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son."
Colossians 1:13

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us for it is written, Cursed is the one that hangeth on a tree:  That the Blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:13-14

Once we belong to Jesus we no longer belong to this world.  We our not governed by the world, we are governed by the Kingdom of God.  I believe that it IS always God's perfect will to heal, deliver, or restore.  I believe that God's perfect will for us was the Garden of Eden.  Adam and Eve destroyed that for a time but Jesus came to restore that which we lost.  We pray, "they kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven." We should never believe that it may not be God's will to heal.  For once we believe that misconception our battle has already been lost.   Some might think that because I am a strong believer in Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;" and I believe that it is Always God's will to heal, then I also believe that those who have died while truly standing, died because of sin or lack of faith.  This is not entirely my belief, I do think that there are people who lose out on their miracles because they give up and assume that even though God is capable of them, He chooses not to.  But I myself have lost loved ones, I do not believe they were taken from me because of lack of faith or sin. As believers, one of the promises that God gives us is, He will never put more on us than we can handle. Only God knows what we can handle and how we will react to certain situations. Only God knows the future and what it holds for each one of us. Sometimes in God's ulitimate wisdom and mercy, He delivers us from the things in this world that eventually could overwhelm us.   And what better healing than to go home to be with Him, for that is truly the ultimate healing.   It is not up to us to tell God how to heal, it is only up to us to KNOW that He WILL heal. Stand firm, never once doubting God's ablity or goodness.  He does not want his children to suffer.  He wants them to prosper in All things.  Sometimes we get so caught up in the Almighty being that God IS that we tend to forget, He is also our Heavenly Father.  Any parent knows, that sometimes our children have to endure hard times for period in order to strengthen their character or teach them life's little lessons.  But because of our Love for them, once that light bulb goes off and they get the message, we are always there to bail them out.  If this is the kind of Love that we as mere humans can feel for our children, how much greater is our Heavenly Father's for HIS.  For God IS LOVE. Without HIM we wouldn't even be capable of loving.

How we exercised our Faith with Serenity:
First of all, every time that I went before the Lord in prayer for our daughter, I made sure to go before HIS throne with a pure heart.  I wanted nothing to hinder me from reaching His throne.  So each time I would pray, " Forgive me Lord if I have unknowingly sinned or stepped out of your will on this day.  I pray that I might be cleansed through your blood and forgiven, so that I am come to you with a pure heart."  Then I would begin to give HIM praises.  The word says that God inhabits the praises of HIS people.  Praising Him welcomes HIS spirit.  Where HIS spirit is welcomed, sickness and things of this world CAN NOT BE.  From that point on we would speak DIRECTLY to Serenity's body, using every scripture that deals with healing, incorporting her name.  Reminding God of His promises, not for HIS sake but for ours.  We also quoted Psalms 91 over her daily.  We believe this should be a daily routine for everyone, sick or well.
Psalm 91
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord. HE is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him will I trust.
Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover thee with feathers and under His wings shalt thou trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walkth in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth by noon day.
A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at they right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge, even the most High, thy dwelling place There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plaque come nigh thy dwelling.
For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thou dash they foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder, the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because He hath set His love upon me therefore will I deliever him; I will set him on high because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and shew him my salvation.
There were also many prayers that came out of a book by Charles Capps called God's Creative Power.  If you are going through a valley of any kind, you need to have this book.  It explains faith and how to exercise it.  It helped us tremendously.  Basically the prayers were just scripture, professing God's promises to strengthen your faith.

We also were very faithful in sowing seeds towards Serenity's healing.  Faithful in prayer and fasting, but also faithful in giving to others.  We realized early into our trial that God had reasoning behind leading us to every hospital we were in.  Everywhere we looked we saw people suffering.  Some of which had little to no faith in God.  As hard as our situation was, I can not even imagine the difficulty of going through it without my Lord and Savior.  This thought brought so much compassion for others.  So as God's favor would bless us, we in turn would bless others.  The more we gave the more God gave back to us.
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that ye always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work"
2 Corinthians 9:7&8

By leading us to four different hospitals, a multitude of people were able to witness our faith and God was Glorified in the eyes of many.  This was,  I believe His purpose from the beginning, that He might be Glorified in the end and through our testimony others might be encouraged or helped.
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do that the Father may be Glorified in the Son.
"And at that day ye shall know that I am in my Father and ye in me and I in you."   John 14:13,20
"And His disciples asked him saying, Master who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?  Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned nor his parents but that the works of God should be made manifest in him."

One of the most important factors to remember is to ALWAYS stay positive.
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing  into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
2 Corinthians 10:5
As soon as negative thoughts start to fill our mind we must rid ourselves of them, careful not to dwell on them for even a moment.  Then,
"Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
Colossians 3:15
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:7

The Word of God says to rejoice and again I say rejoice.  In all things bring Him praise. Sometimes this may seem difficult, but it is a necessity in receiving your miracle!
One of the reasons why I love my husband so very much, is because he has been blessed with the abiltity to make light of almost any subject.  Sometimes I have had to get on to him for joking about things that I think, cross the line just a bit, but he always finds a way to make you smile.  We come from very different worlds and if it weren't  for us drawing off the strengths of each other, we might not have made it through.  I didn't include alot of the funny things that kept us going, because I was trying to keep it as short as possible (believe it or not).  But they are very important to our story.  Tommy always found a way to keep us laughing, which kept us positive and ultimately allowed God to do HIS job.  No matter what the circumstances, stay positive, be patient, and know that God is GOD!

Basically, I believe that we all have a choice  to believe the report of the world or to believe the truth.  God's word is the only real truth there is.
"In hope of eternal life, which God that can not lie promised before the world began"  Titus 1:2
The world says that you are sick, dying, or in bondage of many kinds. God's word says that by the Stripes of Jesus we WERE healed, that He delivered us from our destructions, and will satisfy us with a long life.  We all have a choice.
We choose to believe the TRUTH!

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
Revelation 12:11
