God is so good. My wife and I adopted a newborn who came into this world on June 1, 2010. Matthew has been in the PICU of a children's hospital in Eastern Canada since his 4th day of life. Diagnosed with pulmonary atresia he has been on a ventilator for all but one week of his life. We were told many times so far that our son would not make it, but God is faithful and he has surprised the medical staff many times. We have seen many ups and downs over the past 4 months and we give Matthew to God with child-like faith asking that he grant us our wish to be parents to a healthy boy. Just over a month ago we had the talk that every parent in our position dreads: "There is nothing more we can do." They didn't expect him to make it through the week. We signed a DNR and gave Matthew to God. We asked everyone to keep praying for a miracle explaining that we hadn't given up on Matthew, but we were acknowledging that we were at the end of our medical rope and it was only God who could heal Matthew. In the 5 weeks that following he has been getting stronger every day and we removed the DNR from his chart. After telling us they could not do anything to fix his heart they have come to us to discuss heart surgery. We are waiting on a consult from a hospital in Toronto before they move forward. That is the short version of our story so far. Thank-you for your site which gives hope to fathers such as myself who wonder, in our darker moments, if we are all alone. God has been so good to our family and we have faith that He WILL heal Matthew and he will see the nursery that we have waiting for him. What a party that day will be!! God Bless, Colin

Hi there, I ran across your site while searching for images for music displays I had been working on. I began to read your stories and saw similarities between myself and your youngest daughter. I am one of many who had been born premature, I was very small compared to typical births. 2 lbs 9 oz. I had lung failure several times because of being under developed. I spent 3 months in and out of the hospital and was given very little time to live. However by His graces and all knowing, I was able to pull through. God surely does give our children a chance when no one else does. I bear the scares as a reminder of how precious life is but it's through that experience that I've been able to grow up healthy and able to play like other kids as I grew up. I'm 25 now and still going strong. I hope she continues to thrive and grow stronger. Take care and god bless.

lord knows how i believe in the power of healing. in feb 2009 i was diagnossed with stage 4 cancer. Hadn't been to church in years. but through my faith and my belief that through jesus christ our saviour all things are possible. i was given less than 5 years to live. But i knew that christ was not ready for me to go. And being a single parent i was not ready. In august of 2009, after chemo, and all the test i was diagnossed cancer free. no trace. Do i believe in miracles....yes. And i pray that little girl has a very long life. truly she has inspired me even more. thanks for sharing
